I just got laid off and now behind my car insurance payments. My registration is due in june but I haven’t received the renewal notice yet from the dmv.

If you’re referening to tabs, then…Nope, the only thing the people at the DMV care about is that your check doesnt bounce. They just want to make sure that your driving licenses are up to date.

It’s probably a little early yet for a June renewel from the DMV, but when you do get it, you’ll need to verify insurance in most or all states. It’s never a good idea do drive without insurance–just read some of the questions here–so if yours has lapsed, you may have to scrape up the money for now, let alone June. Do all you can to get some, even if you have to go to an “economy” company for a while.
