no, they will value it at what they are selling for at the auction. Hope you had GAP insurance, other wise you will be responsible for the difference

They don’t give you what they are going for at the auction. They use the average retail value of the car, usually NADA, which is more. But, since there is depreciation, unless you have gap insurance, you will be responsible for the difference between what the insurance comp gives you and the remaining balance of the note. Gap insurance covers that difference.

Your car isn’t new, as soon as it’s registered.

Insurance covers the value of the vehicle only. Taxes and fees are out of pocket expenses associated with the purchase and registration of the car and are not considered part of the value of the vehicle.

The day the car is registered it is no longer considered brand new. Depreciation begins on day one.

For auto insurance the obvious way to get a low rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you choose similar policies with the same limits, car type, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have lots of insurers and will give many quotes on car insurance polices.
